Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, says those who want to return Iran to the past are in fact seeking to take the country back to an era that, according to him, was accompanied by “backwardness, dependence, and a decline in Iran’s standing in the Islamic world.”

According to a report by IRNA news agency, Khamenei said in a message on Monday, September 28, that some consider Iran the “fourth superpower in the world,” but based on “divine calculations, Iran is the number one power in the world.”

He added that Iran is currently experiencing days of “progress, dignity, independence, and the highest level of credibility in the Islamic world and the entire world.”

These remarks come as Iran has faced extensive regional tensions and military conflicts in recent months.

In his message, Mojtaba Khamenei sought to compare Iran’s current situation with the years before the revolution and the Iran-Iraq war period, describing it as a sign of the country’s increased power and independence.
