The Afghanistan Freedom Front has rejected claims published by the Taliban about this front’s operations in the Kamdesh district of Nuristan and Nari district of Kunar, calling them part of the Taliban’s “propaganda campaign” to justify the group’s defeats on the battlefield.

The front said in a statement on Sunday, September 27 (Mizan 5) that the Taliban’s propaganda apparatus is trying to mislead public opinion by publishing false news and videos that, according to the front, were produced under pressure and coercion from civilians, travelers, and domestic tourists in Nuristan.

The statement says that the Freedom Front’s commandos in the eastern zone are mainly composed of local and indigenous youth, and due to their knowledge of the geography and operational areas, they have full awareness of the situation in the combat zones.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front has also claimed that its forces, during operations, consider themselves committed to defending people’s rights and freedoms, human dignity, and compliance with international humanitarian law.

The front further described the Taliban’s propaganda about the Kamdesh and Nari operations as a sign of the “panic and incompetence” of the group’s propaganda apparatus, and accused the Taliban of failing to respect human values and international humanitarian law principles.

In another part of the statement, the Freedom Front expressed gratitude for the support of the people and anti-Taliban fronts, especially the National Resistance Front, for its forces, and asked the people to remain vigilant against what it called “Taliban propaganda and psychological campaigns.”

At the end, the front emphasized that its fighters will continue their armed activities and guerrilla operations with the goal of overthrowing Taliban rule.

This comes as the Taliban have in recent days published video clips claiming the arrest of Freedom Front forces in Nuristan and Kunar.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense said today that it has arrested 32 members of the Freedom Front forces.
