Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, says that in response to the entry of drones from Afghan territory, the country has targeted 10 locations in Afghanistan with airstrikes and drone attacks.
Tarar, in a statement published on Thursday, September 24, on his X account, said that Pakistan’s air defense systems detected and destroyed all drones that entered from Afghan territory before they could reach their targets.
According to Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, these attacks were carried out on 10 locations used for launching and storing drones and targeted military objectives linked to attacks against Pakistan.
He added that these attacks were carried out within the framework of the “right of self-defense,” and Pakistan will not tolerate any attack from Afghan territory.
The Taliban have confirmed Pakistan’s airstrikes on parts of Kandahar, Khost, and Paktia.
However, no report has yet been released on the number of casualties and damages caused by these attacks.
The Taliban had previously said they would give an appropriate response to Pakistan’s attacks.
