Pakistani security sources say that eight drones that entered the country’s airspace from Afghanistan have been shot down by Pakistan’s air defense systems.
According to a report by Pakistan’s Samaa TV, four drones were targeted in mountainous areas near Kohat, and four other drones near the Torkham border crossing.
Security sources added that in response to this incident, Taliban positions and hideouts in the Kurram district were targeted and destroyed last night.
These sources have called the entry of the drones a “provocative act,” but so far no further details have been published about the perpetrators of these drones or possible casualties from this incident.
More details about this incident are not yet available.
However, the Taliban had previously said they would respond to Pakistan’s recent airstrikes on Kunar and Paktika.
