The World Health Organization (WHO) says safe and quality medical care is essential for patients living with non-communicable diseases.

On Thursday September 17, the 26th of Sunbula, the organization wrote on its X page that protecting patients from preventable harm and ensuring the delivery of safe health services is a shared responsibility in Afghanistan.

The agency added that patient safety is a fundamental part of quality health care, and efforts must be made to provide safe and effective medical services to patients.

Edwin Ceniza Salvador, WHO’s representative in Afghanistan, said that through joint cooperation, it must be ensured that every patient receives safe and effective services at all stages of treatment and health care.

This comes as these remarks were made on the occasion of World Patient Safety Day.
