The Malala Fund has criticized the continuation of educational restrictions against women and girls in Afghanistan for the fifth consecutive year and has called for an end to these restrictions.

On Thursday September 17, the 26th of Sunbula, the fund said on its X page that Afghan girls have now entered the twentieth decade of their lives, yet during this time no one has been held accountable for their deprivation of education.

The Malala Fund has also supported the recognition of “gender apartheid” as a crime against humanity.

The organization added that a number of teachers who have refused to abandon girls’ education have in many cases lost their jobs following the education ban, but they continue to teach girls.

The Malala Fund said that Afghan girls continue their education with the help of teachers in secret schools and through digital platforms, and that the fund, in cooperation with organizations such as “LEARN Afghanistan,” financially supports alternative education programs for them.
