Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described his talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as successful and stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing.

Araghchi wrote on X early Thursday, September 17, that current decisions could affect the future strategic balance in the region and have far-reaching consequences.

The Iranian foreign minister also welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s peace initiative aimed at ending tensions and conflict between Iran and the United States.

Araghchi’s visit to China comes one day before the Chinese president’s trip to the United States, fueling speculation about Beijing’s possible role in mediating efforts to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington.
