Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Interior Affairs, met with Hamad bin Khamis Al-Kubaisi, Deputy of Qatar’s National Security Council, and his accompanying delegation in Kabul.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a newsletter published on its X page on Thursday, 26 Sunbula, that the two sides discussed expanding relations between the group and Qatar, better engagement with the international community, and playing a constructive role at the international level.

The ministry noted that the meeting also emphasized further strengthening and consolidation of relations between the Taliban and Qatar.

Hamad bin Khamis Al-Kubaisi had also met with Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Taliban’s Defense Minister, late the previous day.

It is worth noting that this senior Qatari official’s trip to Kabul took place simultaneously with the visit of Ibrahim Kalin, the head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization.
