Local sources have reported the deaths of four young men from Kokjar village in Hazrat Sultan district of Samangan province at the Turkish border.
The sources told Tanin on Friday, November 6, that the four men, identified as Enayatullah, Tawrdin, Lotfullah and Fazl Ahmad, had travelled to Turkey through migration routes in search of a better life.
According to information received by local sources, the young men were arrested by Turkish police at the border and died following severe beatings.
News of their deaths has also sparked various reactions on social media.
Turkish authorities have not yet commented on the circumstances of the incident or the allegations that the migrants were beaten.
Unemployment and poverty in Afghanistan under Taliban rule are among the main reasons young people migrate to other countries.
Taneen Television spoke on Thursday with at least three human smugglers operating along the Iran-Afghanistan border. Their accounts indicated an increase in irregular migration by families to Iran.
They said that in recent months, irregular migration to Iran had increased among families, including women and children.
