The first meeting of the National Coordinators’ Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held today in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday, September 28 (Mizan 6) that the national coordinators of member countries will discuss the organization’s cooperation, the programs of Pakistan’s presidency term, and preparations for future meetings.
This meeting is being held within the framework of Pakistan’s presidency of the SCO Heads of State Council for the years 2026 and 2027.
The ministry said in a newsletter that during its presidency of the organization, it will focus on strengthening regional cooperation, expanding economic relations, promoting innovation, and increasing people-to-people contacts among member countries.
This comes as Pakistan’s presidency is being pursued under the slogan “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation, and Shared Prosperity,” and the programs of this term are intended to pave the way for future meetings and events of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
