The Freedom Front has announced that clashes between its commandos and Taliban fighters in Kamdesh District of Nuristan Province began on the morning of Saturday, September 26, and are still ongoing.
The front said in a newsletter published on X that Taliban fighters attacked the trenches of Freedom Front commandos in Kamdesh District of Nuristan Province using ground forces and several drones.
According to the newsletter, this Taliban attack was met with defense by Freedom Front forces, and afterward, Freedom Front commandos launched several planned counterattacks against Taliban positions.
The newsletter stated that in this counterattack, several Taliban checkpoints fell to Freedom Front commandos, and fighters of this group were pushed back from the Arandu area and parts of Kamdesh District of Nuristan and Nari District of Kunar Province.
The Freedom Front noted that clashes in these areas are continuing intensely.
This comes as the Freedom Front had also reported an attack on the Taliban in Sar-e Pol Province last night.
