Local sources in the Dand Patan district of Paktia province say that a clash between Taliban forces and Pakistani forces along the Durand Line lasted about two hours.

According to these sources, the clash began late Saturday night, September 26, and both sides used light and heavy weapons during it.

The sources added that precise information about possible casualties from this clash is not yet available.

It has been said that the Taliban have deployed heavy weapons in areas near the border, and the clash between the two sides may resume.

This clash comes as relations between the Taliban and Pakistan have become tense following recent airstrikes by the Pakistani army in parts of Afghanistan.

Pakistan has always said that TTP fighters are present in Afghan soil; a claim that the Taliban reject.
