Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the President of Brazil, said at the United Nations General Assembly that the United Nations has failed in one of its most important missions — freeing humanity from war — and that “its credibility has never been so low.”
President Lula da Silva said on Tuesday, the 22nd of September, that the Strait of Hormuz has turned into a battlefield, while it should remain a vital passage for international trade.
He noted that families around the world are paying the price for this situation through rising fuel, fertilizer, and food prices.
Mr. da Silva also stated that generations of Palestinians will carry with them the pain of “the genocide of women and children by Netanyahu’s government in Gaza.”
He further noted that Israeli civilians are paying the price for “extremism and intolerance” and Hamas’s “terrorist actions,” and that illegal settlements in the West Bank are making the two-state solution increasingly impractical.
