António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, says peace in the world has become “dangerously” scarce, and people around the world are struggling to deal with violence and disputes.

Guterres said on Sunday, September 20 (Sunbula 29), that volunteers, peace advocates, civil society leaders, and peacekeepers are working to create dialogue and bring communities closer together.

He added that people around the world in the current situation are showing they are not powerless and can take action to build peaceful societies.

The UN Secretary-General has expressed appreciation for those working to establish peace and called for drawing inspiration from their courage.

Guterres also called on world leaders to invest in creating a peaceful and secure future for all people.
