The office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says that environmental pollution has become one of the serious and expanding challenges in Afghanistan.

On Sunday, September 20, coinciding with World Cleanup Day, UNAMA announced that plastic waste plays a significant role in the pollution of the country’s water, soil, and land.

This institution has asked citizens to prevent throwing garbage on roads, alleys, and waterways, especially the Kabul River.

UNAMA has emphasized that proper waste management and increasing public awareness about the consequences of pollution are important for creating healthier communities and a sustainable future.

This institution has also called for greater attention to environmental protection and preventing waste from entering waterways and natural environments.
