Afghanistan’s electricity company (Breshna) under Taliban control has reported a meeting between officials of the company and Murad Artikov, head of the TAP project.
Breshna announced on Saturday, September 19, that during this meeting, the progress of the 500 kV electricity transmission project and its implementation process were discussed.
According to the company, the implementation of this project will provide the ground for transmitting a greater amount of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
Also at this meeting, discussions were held on completing the Noor al-Jihad substation in Herat, supplying electricity to the Bala Murghab district of Badghis, and implementing a number of other projects.
This comes as Afghanistan imports a significant portion of its needed electricity from neighboring countries, and Turkmenistan is considered one of the main sources of electricity supply for the country.
