The Taliban group has announced that 155 families comprising 685 Afghan migrants were forcibly returned to Afghanistan the previous day.
Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban, said on Saturday, September 19, that 58 families comprising 272 people entered the country through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar.
According to him, 10 families comprising 61 people returned to Afghanistan via Spin Boldak in Kandahar, and 72 families comprising 310 people through the Pul-e Abrisham crossing in Nimroz.
Also, 15 families comprising 42 people entered the country via Islam Qala in Herat. This deportation comes as the United Nations has repeatedly called for a halt to the forced deportation of Afghan migrants.
