The Afghanistan National Boxing Federation, operating under the Taliban administration, has announced that the country’s national boxing team has traveled to China to participate in the fourth edition of an international boxing festival.

The federation said in a statement on Saturday, September 12, that the Afghan national boxing delegation left Afghanistan for China earlier that morning.

The fourth edition of the festival, titled the “Belt and Road” Youth International Boxing Festival, includes a training camp and international youth boxing competitions.

The event will be held from September 14 to 30, 2026, in China’s Xinjiang region.

The Afghan delegation consists of seven athletes, two coaches and two referees who will take part in the event.
