Nasir Ahmad Faiq, the acting head of Afghanistan’s mission to the United Nations, says that the country’s women are not only victims of Afghanistan’s developments, but are also among the stakeholders and political leaders of Afghanistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faiq said on Tuesday, the 22nd of September, in remarks at a high-level side event of the United Nations General Assembly titled “Women, Peace, Justice, and National Reconciliation in Afghanistan,” that women’s participation must be direct, meaningful, and part of the main political process.<\/span><\/p>\n

He emphasized that without the participation of half of Afghanistan’s population, credible reconciliation is not possible, and sustainable peace will not be achieved without justice and accountability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faiq added that Afghanistan’s future must ultimately be determined by the people of this country, and the Taliban are not the only stakeholders in Afghanistan and cannot alone represent the diversity and demands of the people of this country.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, women’s participation in political and social processes and issues related to their rights have become one of the central topics of discussion about the country’s political future and reconciliation process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nasir Ahmad Faiq has also consistently emphasized women’s participation in the political process and the importance of justice and accountability at United Nations meetings.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
