German media have reported that 13 Afghan citizens — convicted of serious crimes including sexual offenses, assault, and drug trafficking — were deported from Germany to Kabul on a charter flight.
NTV reported that the individuals were transferred to Afghanistan on Tuesday, September 15 (24 Sunbula).
Germany’s Interior Ministry said the deportees had records of serious criminal convictions, but no further details were released about their identities or the length of their sentences.
With this flight, the number of Afghan citizens deported to Afghanistan since the current German coalition government took office has reached 263.
Germany has increased the deportation process of convicted Afghan citizens in recent months and had previously transferred 22 and 31 Afghan citizens to Kabul in two separate flights.
