Atta Mohammad Noor, a jihadi commander and former governor of Balkh, says that guerrilla and partisan warfare requires strategic vision, a world of experience, and mature, responsible, united, and nationwide plans.
On Sunday, September 27, he published a message on X (Twitter), saying: “Please, for the sake of foreigners’ pleasure and gaining fame, do not send our needy youth, migrants, and the children of our oppressed people to their deaths with hasty plans.”
In his view, Afghanistan’s freedom can only be achieved through the strong, independent will and courageous action of the people themselves, not by becoming a proxy force and infantry for foreign powers.
He noted: “This view stems from a sense of patriotism and is the result of my 45 years of war and struggle experience, not from baseless opposition against you.”
Atta Mohammad Noor did not specify which group was the target of his message.
These remarks by Mr. Noor come amid intense clashes between National Liberation Front forces and Taliban fighters in Kamdish district of Nuristan province.
On the other hand, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, by publishing a statement, has supported the struggles of the National Liberation Front and other anti-Taliban groups, and emphasized unity among the forces opposing this group.
