Following a shooting by armed individuals at a party in the city of Durban, South Africa, at least 11 people have been killed and three others injured.
According to CNN, this incident occurred on Tuesday evening, September 22, at a house in the “KwaMakhutha” area, about 30 kilometers south of Durban.
Police have said that three armed individuals entered the party venue and opened fire on those present.
Among the deceased is also a woman who, according to police, was likely pregnant.
South African police have announced that the perpetrators of the shooting fled the scene after the attack, and so far no one has been arrested in connection with this incident.
The motive for this attack is still unclear, but police have suggested that a dispute between rival groups may be behind the shooting.
Police also said that some of the people present in this house had previously been known in investigations related to criminal activities.
This incident comes as South Africa has witnessed several deadly shootings in recent years.
In June as well, 12 people were killed in a shooting in a poor area of Johannesburg.
According to CNN, South Africa is one of the countries with a high murder rate in the world, and on average, about 60 murders are recorded daily in this country.
